I have added an album with two pics of the MTZ at Keokuk Union station.
One shows the original light placement and the other has the added Mars
light.
I don't remember where I got these and hopefully are not on this group
already. If so, forgive a new member of the site.
I rode this fantastic train as a lad when my mother would take me to
Burlington to shop for school clothes. Also later as a teenager a buddy
and I took the train to St. Louis to see a Cardinals game.
Incidentally, my father worked for the Q for 49 years and I rode his
engine several times both steam and later diesel(which he did not care
for). I am searching for the picture the local newspaper took of him
with two sons on the engine his last day of work.
I recently bit the bullet and purchased the HO version of the MTZ in
brass made by Challenger. It's an absolutely stunning model.
