[CBQ] U boat Truck colors

Hi All
  I was looking at various color photographs of the CB&Q/C&S  U30C's.  It seems 
all the 
trucks are fairly light colored.  It made me wonder what color were the trucks  
delievered 
with originally  and is the resulted color in the photos the truck color or 
dust from the 
ballast.
