[CBQ] Illinois Midland

I recently talked with a gentlemen who lives on land near Newark,IL that the 
Illinois Midland passed thru. He even has several pieces of rail in his 
backyard where it was left when the line was taken up.
Does anyone know the date the line ceased operating after the trestle was 
burned by a late beer party group ?. 
He and I had different dates for the sad event. I know that in 1973 when I 
made my first paid trip down the Fox River Branch there wasn't any sign of the 
RR left at Millington.
