These dimensions are identical to the following
    HC-1 180000-180649 built 1940-48
    HC-1A 180650-181546 built 1951-57
    HC-1B 181550-181899 built 1958
    HC-1C 181900-182249 built 1961
All were built at Havelock except 180000-99 which were built at Galesburg
HC-1D 182250-182449 and 182500-182749 were rebuilt HC-1 and -1A's
In 1970, there were still 1982 of these on the roster out of the original
2250
FW&D had 2201-2225 (HC-1 built 1945) whilst C&S had 19000-19019 (HC-1A built
1954) and 19020-19079 HC-1B built 1958)

These and other covered hoppers were extensively covered in Bulletin #20

However, having typed all this, I've looked at the Bulletin and a comparison
of photos shows that all the HC-1's had closed sides between the hoppers
whilst yours are open sided! ("Look before you type") If these are ex-CB&Q,
they will be ones leased from Shippers Car Line with open sides, of which
there is a photo on page 10! They were built at ACF as Lot 3238 in 1948.
I'll send you a scan tomorrow if you want one.

Rupert
