I have two CB&Q public passenger Time Tables, July-Aug 1928, and FEb-Apr
1941 (A Colorado Rail Museum reprint). Both the 1928 and 41 tables indicate
the Atchison connection was by "motor car". As many railroad refered to the
doodle bugs as "motors" this could be what they mean or it could be a taxi
or bus. The 28 Leavenworth connection does not show the motor car symbol
so it must be a train. This would not be surprizing due the the Army Post,
the large vetrans facility and the Federal and military prisons there meant
good government traffic. The Infantry and Cavalry schools were there since
1881 and the Staff College came about the time of WWI. This could easily
justify a regular run. By 41, this also was listed as a "motor car" Hope
this helps.
                                                                    Pat
