The utmost ribs on the sides of the early PS hoppers (class HC-2, # 
85000-85029 and 85050-85064) were of a channel type while on
the later cars (class HC-3, # 85100-85199) these were hat-type ribs. The 
HC-3 cars also had  4 inch taller sides, resulting in
a slightly larger capacity (3219 cuft vs 2983 cuft).
HC-2's 85015-85029 were later (1965) outfitted with 100t roller-bearing 
trucks and repainted black. A pic of such a car is on page 83 of the CB&Q 
Color Guide.
