The 10-6 Sleepers BLI is producing do not match any of the Burlington's non
CZ 10-6's. The 1952 order from Budd for 10-6 sleepers of which 2 were built for
the CZ Silver Crag and Silver Chasm, do not match the 1949 CZ 10-6's. These
lack the extra bedroom isle windows. Instead of 6 windows on the bedroom isle,
the 1952 10-6's have 3 windows on bedroom isle.
The 10-6's built for the 1956 DZ have a different interior design. The
earlier 10-6's from the vestibule 5 roomettes on either side of the isle then
the 6
double bedrooms. The DZ 10-6's from the vestibule 4 roomette, 6 double
bedrooms, then 6 roomettes. This arrangement placed the higher priced bedroom
accommodation in the quietest part of the car. I believe the last order of Budd
10-6's for the Mo Pak were also built to the DZ design, although the Mo Pak's
rode
on 6 wheel trucks.
The CZ diners were the last ones built with the roof antennas. The baggage
cars match Silver Treasure (after the steam generator was removed), Argo, and
Olympus.
All the CZ cars carried the little name board on the end of the cars with the
owner of the car, CB&Q, DRG&W, WP, and PRR. For the guys that wish to model
the RGZ these name boards stayed on while the "CZ" name board was removed. My
hope is on the undec CZ cars the name boards are a separate peice. That would
make life much easier.
