Next one?No. 70 was built as CB&Q No. 70 at Galesburg in 1878. In the 1898
renumbering, 1,000 was added to all CB&Q locomotives, thus No. 70 became A-3
class No. 1070. Then in 1904, it received No. 412 and was retired in 1912.
Are you beginning to see how to interpolate the data in Corbin?s book? The
keys are the date of the photo, location, and pre-1989, what road the
locomotive is lettered for. A single locomotive can appear in more than one
of the Class tables, and sometimes you need to refer back to the text for
that particular class to find the ?missing links.?
