Jan,
I looked at all the messages regarding this issue but still am not
really satified with the information.
Having worked in a major hobby shop in Michigan I KNOW that there are
SST paints available off the shelf. Model Master makes a BUFFING SST
that when done properly, as on a model car or plane that is made of
PLASTIC, comes out beautiful. The problem with Suzie's issue is that
we are working with a resin kit and they tend not to be nearly as
smooth as bare plastic (Model Master recommends painting on the BARE
plastic with no primer to get the desired results). Model MAster
makes a NON BUFFING SST but I have been unable to locate it.
With all that in mind I would think that someone else makes a SST
paint that would closely replicate the Zephyer SST. Although it
looks shiney, SST will aquire a dull look to it after some period if
not coated properly. Does Scalecoat or Floquil make an SST paint? I
have not been able to locate any here in Cincinnati yet...but heck,
its Cincinnati wadda ya expect eh? :-)
