My recollection is the F units were referred to as either Graybacks or
Covered Wagons; Redbirds were the GP-20s but I defer to Karl Rethwisch for a
further clarification. Blackbirds were those "feathery" creatures that flew.
Karl and I knew a "Canvas Back" that wasn't a duck.
