Just thought I'd chime in about the consist. During leave from Ft. Leonard
Wood, MO, I traveled the Z-R from St. Louis to Cedar Rapids and return. We
dropped the dinning-parlor-obs at Burlington, IA Northbound and picked it up
Southbound.

Subject: [CBQ] Re: While we're at it...MTZ and Zephyr-Rocket consists
Over on the RITS (Rock Island Technical Society) there is a sampling
of Z-R consists.
The link is:

Hope it works...
You may have guessed that I am big on prototype equipment and
location modeling, but more free-lanced on the operations side. Even
though I model 1969, I plan on running a Zephyr Rocket. More as a
mail/express train than a passenger train.
Here's a consist I have planned:
baggage (CBQ) (Havelock car)
baggage (CBQ) (Heavyweight)
express box (CBQ) (ex troop sleeper)
RPO (RI) (streamlined)
RPO (RI) ("turtleback"-the one parked at the Burlington IA depot)
86' piggyback flat (common on RI trains at this time)
coach (CBQ) (heavyweight)
coach or lounge (RI) (streamlined)
Power will be a Q E8/9 or a RI ex UP E8A/B. Gives me a reason to
super detail and run the set of P2K units!
