Tom,
All the unit Potash trains of CB&Q era were in IMCX cars.
They had both Center Flows and PS type cars. The idea behind
these trains was that they would move as units for the long
haul and then be re-billed out of Mendota as they were sold.
Beardstown was also used as a staging point. After the Denrock
to Mendota line was abandoned the trains were still billed to
Mendota but the holding and re-billing were done at Eola.
First of these trains to go further East was a destination on
the CI&L. Don't recall the name of the town.
