All,
NKCR should be taking over the former CB&Q/BN trackage
from Culbertson to Imperial and from Franklin to Oxford
Jct. within the next week to ten days. It is not yet
certain they will get operating rights into McCook but
it would be a good idea, at least from Culbertson.
Imperial branch has a lot of traffic but facilities at
Imperial rather difficult to switch as very crowded.
Always took two crews to get local up and back.
As to the West end of the Wymore there are elevators
at Alma and Franklin but they are not frequent shippers.
All this will do is move the interchange point with NKCR
from Orleans to Oxford. Not a bad deal there.
Trackage between Franklin and Red Cloud has been out of
service for years.
