Mike,
Where is Arenzville? Not shown on any current track charts.

Subject: [CBQ] Arenzville Hill grade...
On Sunday I was out roaming around and made it as far as Arenzville, IL.
Does anyone have any charts that they could look up just what kind of
percentage
that grade is? The station and roundhouse (all 16 stalls!) are still
standing
in Beardstown and worth seeing. I was also able to see a train from the high
road bridge at Stewart Siding for the first time... really an impressive spot
for Illinois. Also spent some time driving around what was Camp Ellis near
Ipava (WW2 training camp) and dropped by the FCNG station in Lewistown and
was
pleased to meet Verlin White. Found the branch off the main south of Vermont
that ran east to the strip pits but the huge dragline shovel that was there
in
the early '90s has been moved out or cut up. Interestingly, the high-power
electrical stubstation for the shovel is still there but abandoned. Part of
the fill for the branch to Rushville has been removed near the highway but
the
wood pilings are still in place south of Vermont.
