The first-ever St. Louis Railroad Prototype Modeler's Meet will be
held Saturday, August 21st at the Katy Cavins Recreation Center, 308
East 5th Street, O'Fallon, IL 62269. O'Fallon is about 18 miles
east of downtown St. Louis by I-55/70 and I-64 in St. Clair County.
The heart of this event is the model display by attendees. Bring
your models, finished and unfinished, for display in the main room.
All scales, gauges are welcome; attendees are encouraged to bring
locomotives, rolling stock, structures and any other models
pertaining to prototype railroading. There will be no contests or
awards. The purpose of the meet is to share information and your
best modeling techniques, and meet modelers from the entire St.
Louis metro area and beyond. Join us!
In addition to model displays, presentations and demonstrations by
nationally-recognized modelers and railroad historians from the St.
Louis area are scheduled. Speakers include Ed Hawkins, David Jobe,
Sr., Dan Kohlberg, Jack Spencer, Dave Davis, Pat Wider, John Lee,
John Welther and Chris Thies. Historical Societies and select local
vendors will also be in attendance. Presentation itinerary (subject
to change) is printed on the back of this page.
Hours for this one-day event are 9:30 A.M. to 11:00 P.M. Set up
