If you want the "perfect" CZ consist..... after 1952 12 cars.

1 Baggage
3 Dome Coaches
1 Dome Buffet Dorm
1 Diner
1 16 Section Pullman (in the early 1960's rebuilt to 48 seat coach with no
exterior changes made)
1 6-5 Pullman (after 1952)
3 10-6 Pullmans (Silver Rapids PRR left the CZ Pool in 1958 if memory serves)
1 Dome Observation

You can pick any combination from the 4 railroads depending on your time era.
You can also add a couple of the new Walthers Pullman Standard Rio Grande
coaches, the ex B&O's, but place them in front of the lead dome coach. If you
wish you can also add a number of different railroad Pullmans to the CZ. In
Mike
Spoor's Color Burlington Books he's shown a number of different Pullmans in
front of the Observation car, IC, NYC, PRR, C&O, SP, UP are some of the non CZ
Pullmans. Why this placement in the consist of non "CZ" cars, odd cars didn't
have the train announcement equipment, by placing odd coaches in front of the
CZ equipment and the odd Pullmans in front of the Observation, only the Obs
wouldn't have the train announcements. Also for the coaches, I've seen shots of
the pre war Burlington flat tops running in front of the lead dome coach.
