Ravenna was and is the division point between Lincoln and Alliance. What a
place that used to be! Ravenna was once a great railroader's town. Many train
crews lived there. That small town (pop. 1800) had more Chryslers for its
size than any place in the country. Every street was paved. I have wonderful
memories of what Ravenna was in the 30's and 40's. Today it is still a div.
pt., but crews don't live there. (The RR has dormitories for crews living in
Lincoln or Alliance. I think the RR wants to lengthen the Lincoln Div. and
eliminate Ravenna as a DP. Sad situation.
