Val Nelson <super-chief-val@cox.net> inquires-
>Where is a good place to get such wheelsets in an ecconomic fashion?
>I have >close to 1,000 pieces of equipment that could benefit from
>such conversions.
For most, the easiest way to purchase them is directly at
http://www.reboxx.com/. Some of the most sophisticated hobby shops
like Caboose Hobbies in Denver, and the Whistle Stop in Pasadena (CA)
also carry them. If you are purchasing great numbers of them in one
order, I would suspect that you might be able to negotiate a price
break, but I do not know that for certain.
>Also, does Reboxx make a wheel tire that has a prototypical profile?
The tread profile for all the wheels is RP 25, and all are .088"
wide. They do not make wheels to the exact P87 profile (.064" wide?).
Reboxx is owned by the same person who owns Intermountain, and the
Reboxx wheel quality control seems to be of the same very high order
experienced with Reboxx.
I converted two pairs of Silver Streak metal trucks last night, with
documented improvements from 5-7 rolls to 18-19.
