I've got a question that has really stumped me over the past 2 years or so
that I've been doing model railroading...

...note that this is not intended to be antagonistic, but a real question..

I've seen some stupendously excellent model freightcars
(http://www.steamfreightcars.com is one place I frequent), but almost to a
"T", everyone uses molded plastic trucks.

Now, why in the world would someone put all that detail in a freight car,
but leave the trucks with unrealistic molded springs? I can't figure that
out...even as...ummmmm...obtuse as some scratchbuilt modelers tend to be,
that they would still used a molded spring truck on a car that they have
spent innumerable hours on making it look realistic?

Cheers!
