 Were they always operated long end forward?  I seem to recall them on the 
Denver Zephyr in the late 60's, running short hood forward, but maybe not.  I 
was considering turning the seats around, until I saw this post.

Both built in 1952...They  were operated long/door end leading as were the CP 
cars.  In
the 60's you would often find them running overnight on the Blackhawk
in lieu of a diner to provide breakfast service into St. Paul/Mpls.
