It appears the Walthers domes window arrangement is close to the
American Royal/Kansas City Zephyr cars 'Silver Patio' and 'Silver
Garden' but I may be missing something here. I realize the
letterboard fluting is missing as are the full skirts. The photos I
have seen of the new Walthers dome appear to show the coach seats
facing the door in the long end. When I used to ride Silver Patio or
Garden when they would show up on the Twin Zephyrs, or more often the
Blackhawk, I seem to remember they operated long end first. I may
have a faulty memory though.
I have put full skirts on some Riv. and Walthers Budds using
Evergreen 10-10 siding cut to fit squared off wheel wells. It works
from more than 3 feet away. <grin>
