Fellow BRHSlisters,
I've searched the BRHS archives and have come up wanting for information about
the Fulton, IL depot. Fulton was on the Davenport to Savanna line, just north
of East Clinton at milepost 96.32. Our CB&Q Mileage Statement Showing Miles
between Stations shows this line was retired in 1962, which explains why our
alignment charts are missing the appropriate pages. If anyone on the list has
information that would help Pat & Chuck, please respond quickly, as it appears
they are in a hurry to get it for an article in their Historical Society's
publication.
Thanks!
Dave

Our town Fulton,Ilinois has a CB&Q depot. We are doing a search for information
on when it was built and dedicated and when it was removed from service . It is
a district office for the Riverbend School at this time.
The CB&Q crossed the Mississippi river into Iowa on Jan.20, 1885. The Chicago,
Burlington, and Northern Railroad Co. started building tracks north out of
Fulton in Aug.1885.In 1899 they merged under the name Chicago, Burlington and
Quincy.
We don't have any info when the depot was built.
On Sept.10 1910 the depot and freight house burned. We don't know when the
present structure was built and went out of service. If you have any info about
the depot please let us know -Pat and Chuck Miller
