According to Drury's Guide to North American Steam Locomotives the IC had no Northerns at all. They had 4-8-2 Mountains numbered in the 2300, 2400, 2500 and 2600 series. I have no data no the IT. Drury lists no Northerns in the 6100 series for any Mid American railroad. The Q's 6117 was a 2-10-2. Is there any chance you are misjudging the wheel arrangement?

As Q's Northerns were 5600 series & Wabash's 2900, must either be IC
or IT. My Dunham, Stover & Corliss IC books show every steam loco class EXCEPT Northerns & my IT book is on loan so that's as far as I can narrow it down. GErald
