Challenger E-5's

I picked up a set of the Challenger E-5's with skirting on the 
trucks. Does anybody know if there has ever been a replacement brass 
sideframe produced that doesn't have the skirting? Preferably one 
that would mount right into the existing mounting screws. The 
skirting on the Challenger sideframes is soldered to the brake 
cylinders making removal difficult.
