The new depot on East side @ foot of Grandad's Bluff next to golf course
opened in "40 resulting in a 15" reduction in Twin running time which was a
factor in building it @ new location. I have a copy of the T.O. from 1st
run. Stop @ No. LaX was still necessary for one other reason - was a meal
stop for lesser trains as well as fuel, etc if needed.
WWII interupted the Q's program of replacing older depots (Ottumwa,
Hannibal, etc) but picked up again after "45. Gerald
