Andy Sperandeo just gave a new slide clinic on passenger cars at the
recent Cocoa Beach, FL prototype meeting, and in it he
enthusiastically endorsed the Alclad/gloss black solution to the
on-going stainless steel "paint" issue. He passed around an Athearn
fluted RPO car body painted on one side in this fashion. It really
looked good. Judging from the response in the pretty-sophisticated
audience, they thought so too. I intend to try it out myself.
BTW, Walthers showed for the first time at Cocoa Beach a fully
assembled but unpainted test shot of its new Burlington wood NE four
window waycar- to be available with or without end windows. It looked
excellent- it even had the correct trucks.
