Sounds more like the Kansas City, Clay County, and St Joseph ... found one site

The only other railroad I can think of involving Kansas City and a northerly
direction was the Kansas City, Wyandotte, and Northwestern which was absorbed
into the Missouri Pacific and shut down before WW II.
