Steve, Your memory is pretty accurate! Yes, part of the CB&Q's Albia line was flooded with the building of the Red Rock dam and reservoir just north of Knoxville. In 1966, the depot in Albia was brick. The sign in Fairfield did read "Home of Parson's College" but if it had the later... it was probably graffiti.
