I don't know why the thought came to mind recently, but it did, regarding pay 
for new hires.


Seems like at the time i started braking on the Q,1956, that a newly hired 
brakeman received only 90% of the standard brakeman's pay for something like 
the first 90 days.

Did I dream this, or was that how it was at that time...also I wonder if that 
was standard over the system??
