As a boy, in the 50's, I too remember taking cream to
be shipped on Beardstown Div. Train 12 from Zeigler to
Galva Creamery (300 or so miles away). And no, it did
not stay fresh and sweet! We also shipped to Mattoon
on the IC, with an interchange at Centralia.
