Can anyone on the list help with the accident date/location? Remember to
reply to the list and to the person asking the question.

I am trying to learn more about my great grandfather--of whom I know very
little. But I do know that he worked for the Burlington RR in appx. 1885 -
1910. He was killed in a RR accident near Hinsdale, IL. I figure if I can
pin down the date/place of the accident, I might be able to come up with
newspaper articles/obituaries that might tell me where he lived, etc. Are
you aware of any publications or materials that cover early RR accidents?
(The NARA's materials on RR & Amtrak wrecks doesn't start until the 1960's.)
Can you point me toward any publications or resources that might help?
Thank you very much for any assistance you can give me.
