Some belated comment (could not get my E-mail for some time) about the Red
Caboose flats. According to the product review
in the Oct. ' 96 RMC the (HO) kit "closely represents the USRA-design which was
not built until after 1923 for the C&NW (1.200),
the NYC (300), B&M (237), FEC (200), C&O (100), PM (100), DT&I (50) and TC (25)
and possibly others as well." So these are not
fancy models as such but the Q only had 40' 9'' and 45' 9" cars. The Nov. 1957
ORER shows 25 40' 9" cars in class FC (=cars for
piggybacking/containertransport) -ANY PHOTO's OUT THERE?- and 551 45'' 9" cars
(class FM-11, rn 91000 - 91849). Is there
maybe anyone with experience in shortening or lengthening the RC kit to one of
these Q-classes?. Am myself seeking more info:
diagrams and or photo's and untill when in revenue service!
