Charlie and List,
Is there anything that matches the thrill of opening an unseen Sanborn Map
that fills in so much lost information? Thanks for the info on the brick
depot at Riverside. I checked on an old booklet I have titled " Riverside
in 1871 with a description of its Improvements ( Views and Buildings )

Under RAILROAD FACILITIES an estimate from Riverside to Central Depot was
about 40 minutes. The booklet goes on to describe the new CB&Q depot being
constructed in 1871. The dimensions are to be about 40 feet in width by one
hundred feet in length, with a platform 15 feet broad running completely
around the depot, covered by a projecting roof. Judging from the engraving,
the tracks separate the water tank and depot which as I recall, puts the
depot close to where it now sits.

The engraving shows a train stopped at the depot but beyond that, there's no
hint of roundhouse facilities sorry to say. Bill
