A fully intact wood CB&Q waycar (number unknown, and not yet found)
was a part of a failed restaurant in Rancho Cordova, a suburb of
Sacramento. A heavyweight ATSF coach was also a part of the
restaurant. Both were saved by the Pacific Coast Chapter of the R&LHS
and transported to Folsom, CA were they resided temporarily in Old
Town. The waycar was in very poor condition, and a potential "parting
out" was avoided when it was recently purchased by a local dentist
and immediately transported to Virginia City, NV, where he will be
restoring it as a part of a private historic residential complex.
I know the person in question, and from observation of past projects,
there is no doubt that this lowly car will now have a spectacular new
life.
Now, does any one know anything about the past on this car (including #)?.
