Even after the telegraph was no longer used, the old
abbrevations continued. For example, if the Dispatcher
was "putting out train orders" too fast, you would say
"BK", which meant "break" or slow down. Some others
were "SD" for "stop displayed", "ND" for "no signal"
etc.
