Wow, Steve!
Talk about opening a Pandora's Box! With all the previous posts
about color and perception! Now you ask these questions!!!
You are going to get me into this free-for-all............
These questions that you seek answers to are all subjective. At
best you will receive opinion based upon personal observation
and perference. I susgest that you look and choose for yourself.
What you want from a model is known only by you.
For what it is worth, the manufacturers you mention, and the
Life-Like Proto 1000 F3 that you did not, are vast improvements
over the mass produced HO scale F units of the past. Others
may argue that one is better for one reason or another, but we
are really splitting gnats.
Drives are improved, detail also, as well as paint. I come from
the old school of "if you don't like it and it is close and if you want
it, buy it and fix it."
I intended that these comments be read with a smile. Your
questions are valid, but you need to make a choice based upon
your ability to pay, what you ultimately want them to look like, and
how and where you will operate them.
Since I offered data to one of the manufacturers, I will not make a
recommendation on this list.
Good Luck,
Ed DeRouin
