Oooooh, great! Another chance to start the White vs. Gray paint
discussion!!! <ggggg>
Seriously, if you hold a small object painted with the same paint under the
same lighting up against a large one the smaller one will appear darker!
It is because if you are focusing on the smaller object, there is less light
coming off it to stimulate your vision than the larger one, hence a shift in
brightness perception.
Color has scale.
