I once asked the local elevator when was the last car of grain he shipped on
the Q.Boy did I get an earful! The last car that left Yorkville Farmers Grain
was in the fall of 1967. It was a Q 40 footer that was destined to the grain
inspection track in Cicero.
When finally located several months later it was on the B.&O. in Baltimore.
When it finally arrived on the grain track in Cicero it was 1/3 full!.
Yorkville Farmers went to trucks that Winter.
Leo
P.S.-I asked the question in 1989 and you would have thought the incident had
happened the day before!
