Several of the E-5s were sold to C&S/FW&D (only 9950AB (C&S) and 9980AB (FW&D) 
were purchased new by the subsidiaries).

The "leasing" of power between the Q and the C&S/FW&D was common during steam 
days. Several of the O-4s (USRA 2-8-2s) were leased and/or sold to the C&S in 
the mid-fifties; C&S steam made occasional appearances on the Q. I doubt this 
changed much with the coming of the diesels.
