The engine you see on the May BRHS calendar is Motor Car No. 9767 with the
Silver Pendulum.
These motors look similar to the Sperry Rail detector cars, but I don't know
of any Q motor cars which were converted to Sperry Rail service. It seems
that the UP did convert one or two of their motor cars to their own rail
analysis cars, but I could be wrong.
I think that most if not all of the Sperry Rail cars were built particularly
for that service.
