I recently learned that Life-Like will be doing a brand new model of the GP-7
Phase I in the Proto 2000 series. First batch will have Burlington Route
engines in the low #200 series. I believe these will be in the "blackbird"
scheme while the Atlas GP-7s are going to be in the Chinese Red scheme. The
Proto engine will be a brand new model and while the Atlas model will have
separate grabs and MU hoses it will in fact be a dressed up version of their
old shell. Hope this info helps in making a decision regarding which GP-7
model to get. One might think that in the future Proto will do the Chinese
Red scheme as well.
