Bill's right about the DG table being used under the High St. viaduct. A flood
of considerable power caused extensive damage in and around Aurora in the early
50's washing out large sections of No. Broadway and adjacent CB&Q property
around the car shops. One hard hit structure was High St. viaduct. The creek
scoured the supports under north end of the bridge which caused it to take on a
serious sag and required a street closure for a time, if memory serves me
correctly.

A railroad has never been a wasteful operation, until recent years anyway, so a
"fix" was applied which involved the use of the DG table in an inverted
position under the roadway at the north end of the bridge. This "fix" remained
in place until the new High St. bridge was built.

The Centralia tt was at the old roundhouse, torn down
in '33 and was not replaced by the 100' tt. That was @
the new brick RH, built in '22.
