On the bench, waiting for a number of miscellaneous parts (I always think
of the cartoon in the NMRA Bulletin, decades ago, showing the modeler at
his workbench, with racks holding every conceivable tool all around the
walls; he's saying to himself, "Hmmm.. I'm held up until I can get a
10-ounce lignum vitae mallet."):

The O-4 2-8-2 by Overland that I bought "as is" and still needs the valve
gear repaired;

The O-2 2-8-2 with the resin cast boiler from "Boilermakers", still
waiting for all the boiler details, paint, and lettering;

The new Athearn SW-7 cow & calf, waiting for me to decide to turn them
into NW2s (TR-2A&B set). They look so good on the layout as is, though, I
may just go ahead and run them. Haven't met anyone in Maryland who knows
enough about the CB&Q to pick out the body details & number as being
incorrect ;-) ;

Two Denver Midland 2-8-2's, built on Mantua mechanisms and waiting for
the replacement can motors so they can pull more than 10 cars each;

The kits to build the turntable, roundhouse, coaling tower, and sand
house for the 24th Street engine terminal;

My other brass NE-1 waycar, and two Denver Midland waycars rebuilt from
MDC cars, waiting for me to get energetic enough to apply paint and
decals (hey, until I get all those steamers built/ repaired/ rebuilt,
I've got all the waycars I need!);

Amen!!

In my case, I maximized the use of the space in the room for the layout,
so the "bench" is actually the site of the engine terminal... :-(
