Eric,
Here are the symbol explanations. You will find most of them in the
General Code of Operating Rules. I'm fuzzy on a couple but here goes.
Z - Scale (capacity to weigh cars)
C - Continuous Office (open 24hrs)
B - Bulletin or General Orders
W - Water (either a water tank or hose to add water
to locomotives.
R - Train Register (book to write crew names, engine
numbers, Highest bulletin in effect, on duty time
watch time etc.
K - Standard clock (clock with correct time)
Y - Yard limits
You may even find the following symbols.
A - Automatic interlocking
F - Fuel
I - Manual interlocking
J - Junction
M - RR crossed protected by gates or signals
O - Operator or agent
P - Dispatchers phone
Q - Radio
T - Turntable or Wye
U - RR crossing not protected by gates or signals
X - Crossover
s - regular stop
c - conditional stop (fuzzy on this one)
f - flag stop
A - arrive
L - leave
The numbers below the station names are the distance between those stations.
If you look over to the milepost box you will see it adds up if you check
milepost locations.
Hope this helps.
