Identify Burlington quote?

Hello,
I read the following quote in Railroad Magazine in the late 60's or early 
70's and have forgotten who said it. It was a famous female author from 
the Midwest.
The quote....."It used to be quite enough to be able to say of a man, "he 
is connected with the Burlington"."
If anyone could identify the source I would appreciate it.
