To add interest to your California Zephyr, your might consider adding a NYC
"River" series 10-6 Pullman in the 2-tone grey scheme to your consist. (note
the photo in "The Domeliners" pg 52 by Dorin).
Apparently borrowing from the Pullman pool, check out the photo on page 144
of "Northern California Railroads, The Silver Age" by Fred Matthews, of a
Union Pacific "Pacific" series Budd 10-6, painted 2-tone grey, in line just
ahead of CZ-10 the Vista Dome Observation. The caption reads 1959. If the
caption is correct, it would be too late for the transcontinetal era.
Photo's of a UP Budd Pullman in 2-tone grey is rare, and in a California
Zephyr consist yet!
Fortunately, the Pullman Company, gave us lots of operating options.
