Ed Pavlovic while to my knowledge has never worked on a railroad but sure
seems to know a lot about the day to day operations.Ed,must have been all
those rides on the Milw and the J. Ed,and others were right for the situation
presented.Couple the car to the w/c and make the air, close the angle cock on
the b/o car but open it on the w/c.That way if the b/o comes uncoupled you
know about it right away.Bob Campbell was right that for a situation w/o air
at all(sill or trainline has been ripped off the end) then you guarantee
keeping the b/o w/you by cabling and or chaining it to the w/c.Not a fun job.
