Re. The Last Doodlebug In Bulletin 26 on page 75 is a photo of #9772 dated 1965, which was taken at the Burlington shops, with a note that it was one of five on the roster at that time. The caption also commented "One year later, only the 9735 would still be in service on the Burlington". On page 3 of Bulletin 15 (c. 1986) is a comment that #9735 had been acquired by the Minnesota Transportation Museum and was being restored. There is also a note that it was last used as a switcher at Macomb, Illinois. The accompanying photo was taken in 1963. Rupert Auckland NZ |
