C&S/FW&D waycars were not related to CB&Q designs, except that they all had
characteristics common to cabooses of the period. The "Q" cars were very close
to the standard St.Charles Car Company designs built for many railroads during
the 1870s, 80s and 90s. There was a class of MP cars that were dead ringers for
the standard Q four window (eight window) car right down to the wood beam
passenger style trucks. Santa Fe wood cars are closer to the Q design than the
C&S cars.
The FW&D did get some Q waycars as replacements for their own cars late in the
game but the C&S / FW&D cars are unique and must be modeled if you want to
evoke the feel of those roads.
I have the framing drawing for the C&S cars if you want to pursue modeling them.
