I'm assuming that most of this meat traffic would have come through Galesburg,
either up from St.Louis/Kansas City or through Burlington from further west?
I've had some suggestion that the Rock Island would pass off meat to the TP&W
at Keokuk (at least early in the twentieth century) but my guess would be that
this wouldn't happen with the Q. Safe assumptions?

Most of the perishables interchanged at Peoria with the TP&W were carloads of
meat. I have a consist of an LC section (Coucil Bluffs section) circa 1964 with
about 15 meat for the TP&W. However by 1971 when I was first at Gilman on the
TP&W this traffic was gone. When meat converted to trailers in the mid to late
1960s it was interchanged primrily at Chicago.
